Wojcik Chosen for Fall Week 2 Team of the Week
Indy Eleven collected a hard-fought, 2-1 home win over the Carolina RailHawks on Saturday night at Carroll Stadium … and for their efforts in the match, defender Erick Norales and forward Wojciech Wojcik collected spots on the NASL’s Team of the Week for Week 2 of the Fall Season on Wednesday. The “Boys in Blue” used 54th and 56th minute goals from Wojcik and Norales, respectively, to move them ahead of the RailHawks on the scoreboard – and right behind Carolina in the NASL’s combined season standings.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, this marks the first Team of the Week honor for the 23-year-old Bradley University alumnus Wojcik, who was very active at the forward spot in the victory outside of his goal-scoring exploits in the 54th minute. The goal was the second in as many weeks for “Woj,” who opened his Indy Eleven scoring account two weekends ago with the NASL Play of the Week-worthy volley in the 26th minute of Indy’s 1-1 draw at the New York Cosmos.
FWD: Wojciech Wojcik (Indy Eleven) – The Illinois native is rounding into top form for Indy as he scored in his second consecutive match over the weekend. With the Boys in Blue down a goal, Wojcik climbed high to head in the equalizer against Carolina. Indy would go on to win the game thanks to a goal from Norales.
