Nigel Marples extends contract with HB Køge

English-Canadian Nigel Marples can also call the HB Koge player in the coming year. Defender has just put his signature on a one-year contract extension.

Nigel Marples came in the summer break for HB Koge from the U.S. Network Club Chicago Bridges. Since then, Marples played 16 matches for HB Køge, where he has emerged as confident man in Per Frandsen’s defense.

– We chose this summer to write half year contract with Nigel. At that time we had half a team out with injuries, and was in dire need. On the way, we had the opportunity to see him the way to training and matches over a longer period. Nigel exudes a great peace – and it rubs off on other players. He is one of the older players valuable in locker room, where he always helps the young people on track. He takes a huge social responsibility, also Dreist Academy for youth players, he has been important, and it is agreed that he henceforth will also act as youth coach in Herfølge FC – as you know, is one of the two parent clubs behind HB Køge, says sports director Per Rud and continues:

– Nigel is important to the culture here at the club, and a really nice player to have, because he can be used both centrally and back, ending Rud.

Although pleased Nigel Marples over contract extension, and he looks forward to returning to training course in Herfølge.

– I am very pleased to have extended the contract with HB Køge. Our recent results show that HB Køge is one of the suitors for the promotion places. It has been great to see my family over the winter, but now I am looking forward to getting back on the training pitch with the rest of the guys. We finished strong in the autumn and I hope that we can continue where we left off and help the team to success in the rest of the season.
