Michael Bradley Leads Chievo To Suprise Draw Vs. Juventus
American Michael Bradley was all smiles in Turin on Saturday after helping his team secure a surprising result against vaunted Italian opposition for the second time in four days.
Last Wednesday, the 24-year-old midfielder played a critical role in the U.S. national team’s 1-0 upset of Italy in Genoa. On Saturday, he was immense again as Chievo Verona earned a 1-1 draw at powerful Juventus in Serie A play.
Bradley played a slightly more conservative role Saturday than he did for the U.S., staying just in front of Chievo’s back four and working hard to disrupt the Juventus attack. He broke up numerous forays and was especially strong in the latter minutes as the Bianconeri looked for the go-ahead goal.
