Heinemann signs with MLS; heads to Columbus to play for Crew

Tom Heinemann is no stranger to opportunity.  The Rockhurst University alum has proven his ability to succeed in many opportunities within professional soccer.  Heinemann, a striker last season with the Charleston Battery of the USL 2 division helped take his team to a league championship scoring 8 goals and adding 7 assists.  After he was crowned champion in the 2nd division, Heinemann signed with the Carolina Railhwaks of the USSF 2 league.  While with Carolina, he scored in the league semi finals, helping the Railhwaks to their first league championship.  Columbus opens the 2001 campaign on the road against D.C.
