Bridges FC Newsletter – June 2013
Thank you for your tremendous support of Bridges FC as we continue to provide soccer training and development opportunities for young people around the world. We are excited about our progress as we prepare for our summer trip. Most importantly, we are excited about the opportunity that God have given us to share our Faith with these young athletes.

Winter Training
- Trained over 200 players from Chicago land, other parts of the USA, and the world
- Held high level, competitive training sessions that included many professional players from the MLS, NASL, USL PRO, and international leagues
Bridge To The Pros Holiday Boot Camp
- 1st annual Bridges camp run for Jr. High and High School age players
- A success with many thanks to the professional players that came to talk with the young players: Logan Pause (Chicago Fire, MLS), Mike Stephens (LA Galaxy, MLS), Eric Gehrig (Columbus Crew, MLS), Rauwshan McKenzie (Chivas USA, MLS), Baggio Husidic (Hammarby, Superettan, Sweden), Charlie Campbell (Ljungskile sk, Superettan, Sweden) among others
Professional Signings
- Nigel Marples – Signed with Bridges Partner Club HB Koge (1st Division, Denmark)
- Charlie Campbell – Signed with Bridges Partner Club Ljungskile sk (Superettan, Sweden)
- Cory Weaver – Signed with Bridges Partner Club Brisbane Wolves FC (Brisbane Premier League, Australia)
- Dominic Adams – Trialed with Bridges Partner Club HB Koge (1st Division, Denmark) and looks to sign with the club for the 2013-2014 season
- Luis Mojica & Baba Omosegbon – Trained with Spvgg her eis (Germany) and on went on trials with German 4th Division teams this Spring
Spiritual Development
- Average of 10-12 players attended Willow Creek Church on Saturday evenings throughout the winter and spring
- Weekly Bible Studies also averaged 10-12 players with the most recent series being: “Rumors of God” a look at how God is at work today.
2013 European Tour
- Traveling to Denmark, Sweden, Holland, and Germany for the month of July
- Notable matches: HB Koge (1st Division, Denmark), Ljungskile sk (Superettan, Sweden), FC Schalke 04 U23s (Bundesliga, Germany), Köln U23s (Bundesliga, Germany)
- Team will consist of 22-24 players
- Partnerships have been developed with agents and clubs in Finland, Sweden, Denmark, and Germany
- A mini-tournament has been organized in Sweden with two other clubs, which is attracting interest from numerous Swedish clubs and scouts for potential placement of Bridges players
Giving
- Over 10 players are in need of partial or full scholarships. The cost for a player to participate in the Bridges program for the year is $5,000. Would you consider donating to help the next generation of players and leaders? Any size donation is greatly appreciated!
