Bridges defeat Vitesse Arnhem A1

On Wednesday afternoon in Holland, Bridges took on Vitesse Arnhem A1.  A fairly even match found the guests up 1-0 in the first half when Alex Sauciuc’s strike from just outside of the 18 found the lower left hand corner of the net; defeating the host keeper.  A few other dangerous chances were created by Bridges before the halftime whistle blew but the Americans were still only one up at half time.

The second half saw the Dutch come out with a bit more furious pace as they looked to equalize.  High pressure in the final third led to a picked off pass inside the 18.  In an attempt for goal the Dutch striker was taken down, resulting in a penalty.  He calmly converted the attempt and brought the hosts back level.

It would however be Bridges who would have the final celebration.  Late in the game, Tim Reagan got on the end of a long driven ball and headed home the game winner.

Bridges will train with Dutch power Heerenveen, former club of U.S. international Michael Bradley, before playing against PKC, Groningen.
