Highlights
This year’s trip to the Netherlands and Denmark proved to be a huge success for Bridges FC. Although we were fortunate enough to have a winning record while playing against some of the highest competition that Bridges has seen in its history, success came in seeing players develop in their ability, mentality, and in their personal lives. Here are just a few of the highlights from the trip:
– Defeated sc Heerenveen Reserve Team 1 – 0 after losing 6 – 1 in 2011
– 1st Assistant Coach of sc Heerenveen’s 1st Team showed interest in signing one of our players
– Tied FC Utrecht Reserve Team 1 – 1 after losing 4 – 2 in 2011
– FK AS Trenčín (Corgoň Liga, Slovakia) showed interest in 3 Bridges players after a scout saw the match against FC Utrecht in the Netherlands
– Partner Club HB Køge (1st Division, Denmark) brought in 2 Bridges players for trial and signed Nigel Marples to a contract
– Partner Rob Keith and son Connor joined us in Denmark
– HB Køge is in the process of helping place 8 – 10 Bridges players on professional teams in Denmark, Farro Islands, and Iceland
– 2 players went directly to Sweden to train with a 1st Division Team for 2 months
– 10 – 12 Players participated in Bible Studies and watched sermons from Willow Creek Church with 3 players showing a desire to know Jesus in a deeper way
We are thankful for the opportunities that have been given to our players this summer. During this coming fall, we will continue to train and develop our players and look to give them opportunities for tryouts with professional teams in the fall and winter.
Thank you for your continued support of Bridges FC!
